                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 789
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 welcome the members of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce and
 to join them in celebrating May 8, 2013, as Texas-Israel Day at
 the State Capitol; and
 WHEREAS, The people of Texas and the people of Israel share
 many values and interests, and the growing business between the
 two plays an important role in their respective economies; and
 WHEREAS, The major areas of interest that bind Texas and
 Israel are energy, water, and health; examples of the beneficial
 relationship between the two include the discovery of natural gas
 in Israel by Noble Energy and Texas' use of groundbreaking
 Israeli water technology to help the state solve its ongoing
 water problems; and
 WHEREAS, In light of the joint economic and developmental
 activities in which Texas and Israel are participating, it is
 truly fitting that a day be set aside to celebrate their
 longstanding friendship and to foster an even closer
 relationship; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, hereby welcome the members of the Texas-Israel
 Chamber of Commerce to Austin and extend to them best wishes
 for a productive Texas-Israel Day at the State Capitol; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
 honor of this special occasion.
