SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 816 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Albert Rodriguez, who is retiring May 31, 2013, from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts; and WHEREAS, A longtime employee who is much admired by his colleagues and his supervisors, Albert Rodriguez has exhibited great professionalism and versatility since he joined the comptroller's office 35 years and six months ago; and WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez began his career as a night-shift employee in Data Center Operations, where he worked as an automatic data processing equipment operator; with initiative and skill, he advanced through the ranks to become a shift supervisor; and WHEREAS, During his tenure, he was involved in several of the significant tax implementations and conversions in computer operations; he assisted with the conversion of the Sales Tax forms using Optical Mail-mark Reader, and he helped with the relocation of the Data Center to its current site; and WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has throughout his career been respected for his reliability and expertise, and his presence at the comptroller's office will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Albert Rodriguez on his successful career at the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend to him sincere best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
