SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 838
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
recognizing the New Braunfels Regional Airport, which has been
selected to receive the 2013 General Aviation Airport of the Year
award; and
WHEREAS, This honor is given by the Texas Department of
Transportation at its annual Texas Aviation Awards Banquet; the
New Braunfels Regional Airport was chosen in recognition of its
outstanding facilities and management; and
WHEREAS, In the past several years, this growing airport
has become an increasingly valuable asset to the New Braunfels
area; its director and administrative team have implemented
numerous modifications to increase its efficiency and its
economic viability; and
WHEREAS, These projects include the completion of
improvements to the terminal building, enhancements of the
existing runway and taxiways, and significant refurbishment of
the lighting, signage, drainage, and fuel-farm facilities; and
WHEREAS, The airport has also undertaken marketing
programs and implemented other fiscal strategies that have had a
marked positive impact on its revenues; the facility's director,
management, and staff have worked tirelessly to make the New
Braunfels Regional Airport a model of excellence and efficiency
in regional air travel, and the facility is truly deserving of
recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to the New Braunfels
Regional Airport on receiving the 2013 General Aviation Airport
of the Year award from the Texas Department of Transportation;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of the facility as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
