SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 873
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Louise Stefan for her 50 years of exceptional service
to Hastings Communication Services; and
WHEREAS, Louise Stefan was hired in 1963 by Ann Hastings,
the founder of Hastings Communication Services, which was then
called Austin Answering Service; Louise was hired as a telephone
secretary and was 38 years old at the time; by 1969, she had
become manager of the North Austin branch of the company; and
WHEREAS, In 1985, she was assigned to Quality Assurance for
the company and to the role of personnel scheduler for all
company operations; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, this highly regarded employee and
beloved co-worker has played an invaluable role in the evolution
of Hastings Communication Services, including its success as a
live person-to-person answering service to hundreds of
businesses; and
WHEREAS, An ever-reliable company employee, she has
witnessed the many changes in the company's operations during her
50-year career, and she has been considered a true anchor in the
business and one whose service is greatly valued; and
WHEREAS, The longest-tenured company employee, she has
also been a mainstay in the lives of Mark and Scott Hastings, who
were boys when she joined the firm and who now operate it; they
and all who are associated with the company deeply appreciate her
countless contributions to Hastings Communication Services; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby commend Louise Stefan for her 50 years
of loyal employment with Hastings Communication Services and
extend to her congratulations on her impressive tenure; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Louise Stefan as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
