SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 882
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Monica Perez, who has been named the winner of the
Rising Star Award for elementary school teachers at the 2013
H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards; and
WHEREAS, The H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards
celebrate public school professionals whose leadership and
dedication inspire a love of learning in students of all
backgrounds and abilities; the Rising Star category recognizes
teachers with less than 10 years of classroom experience who have
demonstrated the ability to inspire students to reach their full
potential; and
WHEREAS, Monica Perez is a fifth grade science teacher at
Dr. Thomas Esparza Elementary School in Edinburg; a graduate of
The University of Texas--Pan American, she is passionate about
creating hands-on experiences that make learning fun while
explaining real-life examples of science; and
WHEREAS, She has had a profound impact on the lives of many
young people, and it is truly fitting that she be recognized for
her commitment, her imagination, and her hard work on behalf of
her students; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Monica Perez on her dedication to her
students and on her many achievements and extend congratulations
to her on being named the winner of the Rising Star Award for
elementary school teachers at the 2013 H-E-B Excellence in
Education Awards; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
