SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 890 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to recognize Roger Todd Moore for his ongoing contributions to cartoon art and the preservation of Texas history; and WHEREAS, This talented illustrator has been plying his trade as a cartoonist, trivia aficionado, and calendar designer for many years; his weekly cartoon strip, Moore Texas, can be seen online and in some 25 newspapers around the state; and WHEREAS, A man of wit and wisdom, Roger Moore is a third-generation Texan who delights the imagination of his readers by highlighting unique, obscure, and humorous facts about the great State of Texas; and WHEREAS, He is well known for creating the Bona Fide Original Real Texas Calendar, The Handy Pocket Tex-Book, and the history-based cartoon True Texas Facts; and WHEREAS, This quintessential Texan and folk humorist has long been responsible for enlivening the pages of small-town newspapers and for keeping Texana and Lone Star history and trivia alive and well in the modern Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Roger Todd Moore for his talent as a cartoonist and for his love of Texas trivia, humor, and history; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
