SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 900
In Memory
of
Thomas Paige Murach
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas pays tribute to
the life of United States Army Specialist Thomas Paige Murach,
who died on May 4, 2013, at the age of 22; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Murach died in the line of duty while
serving his country in southern Afghanistan; he had been deployed
from Fort Bliss as a member of the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Murach was born on May 16, 1990, at
Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho; he joined the army in
August of 2010 and attended the Infantry Training Course at Fort
Benning; his first duty assignment was at Fort Bliss, and he was
selected to serve as a reconnaissance platoon sniper; and
WHEREAS, He was a true American hero, and his fellow
servicemen admired him for his valor in the face of danger; his
military honors include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star;
this dedicated young man will be dearly missed by his parents and
his three brothers; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Murach served his country with
distinction; he will long be remembered for his loyalty and
courage, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished by
his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of United States Army Specialist Thomas Paige Murach; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of Specialist Thomas Murach.
