 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North High School student Alan
 Amaro has been named a 2013 Exemplary Migrant Student by The
 University of Texas at Austin Migrant Student Graduation
 Enhancement Program; and
 WHEREAS, This honor recognizes those in UT Migrant Student
 Program courses who have overcome obstacles, excelled
 academically, and participated in extracurricular and community
 activities; Mr. Amaro, who is graduating from high school through a
 dual-language program, has faced barriers that include traveling to
 Illinois each year and health issues that sometimes caused him to
 miss classes, yet he remains committed to educational success; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Amaro credits his parents, Mario and Laura
 Amaro, with instilling in him a desire to work hard and achieve his
 dreams; he plans to attend The University of Texas--Pan American to
 study criminology; and
 WHEREAS, The persistence, dedication, and ability that Alan
 Amaro has demonstrated will certainly continue to serve him well as
 he pursues his education and career goals in the years ahead; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Alan Amaro on
 his selection as a 2013 Exemplary Migrant Student and extend to him
 sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Amaro as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
