H.R. No. 11
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Jerry and Janette Clark
of Buna celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on June
1, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Clark and the former Janette Hicks were joined
in matrimony in 1963 at a ceremony held at Adams Memorial Baptist
Church in Jasper; over the years, they have been blessed with a
treasured family that includes two children and their spouses,
Jerilyn Walters and her husband, Todd, and Joel Clark and his wife,
Jo, as well as four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs.
Clark have been involved in agribusiness since 1968; in addition,
Mr. Clark served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1978 to
1989; he has since worked with Associated Milk Producers
Incorporated and is currently the executive vice president of the
Sabine River Authority of Texas; now retired, Mrs. Clark was
employed as a teacher and librarian in public schools in Buna and
Cedar Hill; today, the couple are active congregants of First
Baptist Church of Buna, where they lead Bible study groups, and they
have also served in Christian ministries across southeast Texas;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Clark have enjoyed half a century of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jerry and
Janette Clark on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Clark as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
