 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Riley Kay Mitchell graduated as the salutatorian of
 the senior class of White Deer High School on May 31, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms.
 Mitchell demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of
 subjects, and she earned membership in the National Honor Society;
 and
 WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom,
 Ms. Mitchell distinguished herself as a homecoming class
 representative and a homecoming queen candidate; moreover, she held
 several offices in FFA and won multiple awards in horse-judging and
 cotton-judging contests; a talented athlete, she has also been
 active in cheerleading, track, and golf; she plans to attend Texas
 Tech University to study multidisciplinary sciences; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Jim Bob and Karla
 Mitchell, Riley Mitchell has earned the respect and admiration of
 her teachers and classmates at White Deer High, and her exceptional
 scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
 opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young
 Texan; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Riley Kay
 Mitchell, salutatorian of the White Deer High School Class of 2013,
 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
 begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Mitchell as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
