R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Johnny and Leona Whipple of Lubbock
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Johnny Ray Whipple and the former Leona Christina
Sinclair were united in matrimony at 25th Street Baptist Church in
Lubbock in 1963, and they renewed their vows at Bethany Baptist
Church on June 11, 1988; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife
have remained constant in their commitment to each other, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Johnny and
Leona Whipple on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Whipple as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
