 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Matthew
 Russell has ably served his fellow Texans as an intern in the office
 of State Representative Stephanie Klick; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Russell has had the
 opportunity to learn more about the issues facing citizens of the
 Lone Star State, and he has gained valuable work experience in the
 field of public service; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Tyler who was raised in Brenham,
 Mr. Russell is pursuing a degree in political science at Texas
 State University; he has supplemented his coursework with a wealth
 of real-world experience, including work as a coordinator for two
 campaigns and service as a legislative intern for Representative
 Lois Kolkhorst; and
 WHEREAS, Adding to an already impressive list of
 achievements, Mr. Russell was recently appointed by Governor Rick
 Perry to serve a one-year term as student regent of the Texas State
 University System, beginning on June 1, 2013; this post will allow
 him to voice the concerns and interests of his peers as the board of
 regents weighs decisions affecting the university; and
 WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties
 as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed
 deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Matthew Russell for
 his service as a legislative intern in the office of State
 Representative Stephanie Klick and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Russell as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
