 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Gabriella Gonzales graduated as valedictorian of
 the 2013 senior class of Pleasanton High School, and she truly
 merits special recognition for her impressive achievements; and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms.
 Gonzales demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of
 subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to
 her studies are myriad; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to applying herself diligently to her
 schoolwork, Ms. Gonzales volunteered her time with her church
 congregation during a Thanksgiving dinner event and has further
 assisted in food drives to benefit the homeless; she plans to
 continue her education at The University of Texas with hopes of
 becoming a pediatric oncologist, a goal that she was inspired to
 pursue because of her younger brother, Christian, who had leukemia;
 and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Gonzales has earned the respect and admiration
 of her teachers and classmates at Pleasanton High, and her
 exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to
 excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this
 remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Gabriella
 Gonzales, valedictorian of the Pleasanton High School Class of
 2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as
 she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Gonzales as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
