 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Audrey Perez has graduated as valedictorian of the
 2013 senior class of Lytle High School; and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; Ms. Perez has demonstrated a thorough
 understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her stellar grades
 have earned her induction into the National Honor Society; she has
 also had the privilege of serving as president of her local NHS
 chapter; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to attending to her studies, Ms. Perez
 has given generously of her time and talents to a number of worthy
 causes; her extracurricular efforts have included assisting with
 healthy-living workshops at her school, volunteering with
 special-needs children, hosting book fairs for younger children,
 helping with the annual Christmas Hayride and Easter Egg Hunt, and
 coordinating fund-raisers for local animal shelters; in the fall,
 she will attend Dartmouth College, where she plans to major in
 molecular biology with the ultimate goal of earning a medical
 degree and becoming a general practitioner; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Audrey Perez has
 earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates,
 and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment
 to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for
 this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Audrey Perez,
 valedictorian of the Lytle High School Class of 2013, and extend to
 her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next
 exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
