H.R. No. 217
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lisa Saenz has been named salutatorian of the Class
of 2013 at San Isidro High School, and for achieving this
significant honor, she indeed merits special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
preparation are myriad; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom,
Ms. Saenz distinguished herself through her participation in UIL
Club and 4-H, which she served as a youth leader; moreover, she was
actively involved in the community as a volunteer for such events as
the San Isidro Festival, the Veterans Day program, and the Aptus
Health Fair, and she has contributed her time and energy to numerous
organizations, including the San Isidro Food Pantry, Driscoll
Children's Hospital, Little League, and Briarcliff Nursing Home and
Rehabilitation Center; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Saenz plans to pursue a degree in veterinary
medicine at Texas A&M University, with the long-term goal of
founding her own vet practice; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Saenz earned the respect and admiration of her
teachers and classmates at San Isidro High, and her exceptional
scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this
remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Lisa Saenz,
salutatorian of the San Isidro High School Class of 2013, and extend
to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Saenz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
