H.R. No. 226 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their memories of Hazel Ione Pangburn Vick of Hideaway, who died on May 27, 2013, at the age of 102; and WHEREAS, The former Hazel Pangburn and her twin brother, Howard Pangburn, were born in Humble on September 20, 1910, to William and Elizabeth Pangburn; and WHEREAS, She shared a rewarding marriage with her husband, Otis Vick, and the couple were blessed with two children, Bill and Nancy; through the years, Mrs. Vick became the matriarch of a family that also included 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Vick was a dedicated homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lindale; in 2012, she and her brother were cited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the second oldest living brother and sister twins; and WHEREAS, Beloved by all who knew her, Hazel Vick enjoyed a life that was rich in the intangibles that matter most, and she leaves behind a legacy that will be forever treasured by those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Hazel Ione Pangburn Vick and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her son, Bill Vick, and his wife, Judy; to her grandsons, William Robert Anderson, Trey Vick, and Bo Johnson; to her granddaughter, Stacey Vick Thomas; to her twin brother, Howard Pangburn; to her 11 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hazel Ione Pangburn Vick.
