H.R. No. 229
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, August 8
, 2013, marks the 60th wedding anniversary
of Bob and Margie Hughes of Golden, and this joyous event provides a
fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together
as husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes were joined in matrimony in
1953; over the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family
that includes three children, Cindy Davidson, Patty Sinclair, and
Sandy Nichols, as well as two grandsons, Tully and Jeffery
Davidson, and three great-grandsons, Hunter, Dylan, and Sawyer; and
WHEREAS, In addition to working as a trooper with the Texas
Department of Public Safety in the Dallas-Fort Worth area early in
his career, Mr. Hughes farmed for a number of years, following a
well-established family tradition; he has also served as head of
the Golden Water Supply Corporation, and under his leadership the
organization was designated a Superior Public Water System by the
State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Bob and Margie Hughes greatly enjoy spending time
with their family, and they continue to be involved in the life of
Golden Bible Chapel, of which they have long been devoted members;
in his spare moments, Mr. Hughes often takes up his rod and reel and
heads for his favorite fishing spots; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted couple have remained constant in their
commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has enabled
them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and
optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob and Margie
Hughes on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hughes as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
