 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Marielle Bugayong is graduating as valedictorian of
 the senior class of Dr. John Horn High School in Mesquite in 2013;
 and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
 distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
 range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
 studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
 preparation are myriad; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents David and Maria
 Bugayong, Ms. Bugayong plans to continue her education at Brown
 University, studying biology and neuroscience on a $160,000
 scholarship; she hopes to later attend medical school and join
 Doctors Without Borders; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Marielle Bugayong
 has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and
 classmates at Horn High School, and her exceptional scholastic
 ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the
 way to limitless opportunities for this outstanding young Texan;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Marielle
 Bugayong, valedictorian of the Horn High School Class of 2013, and
 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
 begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Bugayong as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
