 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jacob Arie is graduating as salutatorian of the
 senior class of Dr. John Horn High School in Mesquite in 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
 distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
 range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
 studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
 preparation are myriad; and
 WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Melissa and Troy Willis and
 Larry Arie, Mr. Arie plans to continue his education at Texas
 Christian University, studying music education; he hopes also to
 travel across the country performing in a drum corps and to earn a
 graduate degree; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Jacob Arie has
 earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates at
 Horn High School, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard
 work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless
 opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jacob Arie,
 salutatorian of the Horn High School Class of 2013, and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the next
 exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Arie as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
