 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Helen
 Butts Tipps, who passed away on June 4, 2013, at the age of 82; and
 WHEREAS, A native of San Augustine, Helen Butts was born to
 Bryan and Leola Butts on January 9, 1931; she attended The Hockaday
 School in Dallas and went on to earn a degree in Texas history from
 Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Kappa
 Alpha Theta; she lived in Houston for many years before moving to
 Austin in 2000 to be close to family; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Tipps took great pride in her three children,
 Helen, Clark, and Mary, her three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Will,
 and Maggie, and her three great-granddaughters, Elise, Katherine,
 and Anna; she was also devoted to her dog, Ginger; in addition,
 Mrs. Tipps was a lifelong member of the Junior League, the
 Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the
 Republic of Texas; and
 WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Helen Butts
 Tipps will remember how she touched their lives with her kind and
 caring ways, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their
 hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
 Helen Butts Tipps and extend sincere condolences to the members of
 her family: to her children, Helen Tipps Watkins and her husband,
 Sandy, Clark Tipps, and Mary Tipps; to her grandchildren, Elizabeth
 Watkins Garrett and her husband, Jacob, Will Watkins, and Maggie
 Watkins; to her great-grandchildren, Elise, Katherine, and Anna
 Garrett; to her sister, Sue Butts McEachern, and her husband, Ray
 Neal; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Helen Butts
 Tipps.
