 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Jacqueline
 Hernandez has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in the
 office of State Representative Chris Turner; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Hernandez has
 contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in
 addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
 issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained
 valuable experience in the field of public service; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Hernandez is currently a student at Lamar
 University, where she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology
 with a double minor in Spanish and legal studies; a fixture on the
 Dean's List for the past three years, she belongs to the Honors
 Student Association and the Spanish Honor Society, and she was
 recently named a candidate for the Psi Chi Psychology Honor
 Society; she is likewise an accomplished student leader; since
 2011, she has served as president of the Education Initiative
 Association, a group of students that strives to promote
 appreciation for the importance of higher education within the
 local Hispanic community; she is also a recruiter for the Hispanic
 Student Association; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
 duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
 indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jacqueline
 Hernandez for her service as a legislative intern in the office of
 State Representative Chris Turner and extend to her sincere best
 wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
