                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Marc Rodriguez for his many achievements; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez is chairman of the United States
 Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where he works to implement change
 at the local, state, and national levels to create professional
 and entrepreneurial opportunities that will generate wealth and
 prosperity for families and communities; and
 WHEREAS, He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania
 and the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The
 University of Texas at Austin; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to his work with the chamber, he is
 the owner of a government relations consulting firm and the
 president of TOPE Development, a real estate company; his
 consulting clients include the American Plastic Bag Alliance,
 Apple Computer, Gerson-Lehman Group, Oracle, and the Texas Water
 Quality Association; and
 WHEREAS, He is active in his community and serves on the
 boards of the Austin Area Research Organization, the Austin
 Convention and Visitors Bureau, United Way of Central Texas, and
 the Southwest Human Services Corporation; he is truly deserving
 of recognition for the many contributions he has made to his
 profession and to the state; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Marc
 Rodriguez on his accomplishments and extend to him best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
