SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Mary Byron Sanders Moore, who is celebrating her 100th
birthday on July 17, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This gracious Texan has led a highly active life
and is a beloved and respected member of her community; and
WHEREAS, Born in Biardstown, in Lamar County, she grew up
in
WHEREAS, Mary and Babe delighted in the arrival of their
daughters, Mary Alice and Elizabeth; Mary waited until the
children were older before she returned to teaching in 1955; she
devoted some 20 years to the Dallas Independent School District,
and the couple retired to Canton; they shared 49 happy years
together, until Babe's death in 1985; and
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to Mary Byron
Sanders Moore on the grand occasion of her 100th birthday; and,

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
