SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 135
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jack Damron, who is retiring as executive director of
the Region One Education Service Center after 37 years of
outstanding service in public education; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Damron has through the years held a variety of
positions within the field, including teacher, coach, principal,
and superintendent; as executive director of the service center,
he has played a vital role in helping local school districts
improve student achievement, operate more efficiently and
effectively, and implement statewide initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been noted for his
welcoming nature and his cheerful disposition, and he has carried
out his many duties with exceptional efficiency and dedication;
and
WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has had a profound
impact on education across the area with his concern for students
and his determination to ensure that educators had the tools they
needed to succeed; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and administrator, he is
respected and admired by colleagues, students, and the public at
large, and his presence at the Region One Education Service
Center will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jack Damron
on his exceptional service to the people of the Rio Grande Valley
as executive director of the Region One Education Service Center
and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
