SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 35
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Lewisville High School softball team, which
recently won the University Interscholastic League Class 5A
state championship title; and
WHEREAS, These young student-athletes have demonstrated
great talent and perseverance over the course of the year and
finished the season with an overall record of 18-4; team members
Gaby Vasquez, Kacie Saucedo, Gaby Guzman, Jessica Nelson, Selena
Garcia, A'leecia Bell, Jessica Stahl, Chloe Campise, Tommi
Goodman, Lindsay French, Summer Quiroga, Maribeth Gorsuch, Emily
Lasky, Miranda Worthington, Megan Haggard, Morgan Mitchell,
Becca Scott, and Nicole Nelson can take great pride in their
outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
head coach Lori Alexander, and with the valuable support of
assistant coach Porscha Albert and varsity assistant Jon Ann
Roper, the team has developed exceptional teamwork and
discipline; and
WHEREAS, Lewisville High School and the people of
Lewisville are proud of the team members for their hard work,
their impressive skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the Lewisville
High School softball team on its outstanding season and extend
congratulations to team members on winning the 2013 University
Interscholastic League Class 5A state championship; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
