                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43
 In Memory
 of
 Leoncio Jimenez
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Leoncio Jimenez,
 who died May 17, 2013, at the age of 83; and
 WHEREAS, Leo Jimenez was born April 28, 1930, in Taylor; he
 served the nation with distinction during the Korean War as a
 member of the United States Army; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Jimenez established Leo's Foods,
 Incorporated, in North Fort Worth in 1978; his management style
 and strong leadership contributed greatly to the creation of a
 successful tortilla business; and
 WHEREAS, This dedicated entrepreneur earned numerous
 awards over the course of his career; he was named Business Man of
 the Year by the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and he
 was inducted into the Tortilla Industry Association Hall of Fame;
 and
 WHEREAS, He was active in a variety of religious and
 philanthropic organizations, including Tabernacle Lodge 1195,
 the Fort Worth Scottish Rite, and the Moslah Shrine; he was a
 member of Iglesia Bautista Getsemani; and
 WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and determination, he
 gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
 counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Leoncio Jimenez; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Leo Jimenez.
