                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65
 In Memory
 of
 Raquel Mosbacker
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Raquel Mosbacker, who died January 30,
 2013, in Brownsville; and
 WHEREAS, This beloved mother and wife was much respected in
 her community and was known for her generosity and compassion;
 and
 WHEREAS, A native daughter of Tamaulipas, Mexico, Raquel
 Mosbacker devoted a great deal of her life to helping others;
 foremost among her concerns were the education of young people
 and a commitment to charitable efforts on behalf of those in
 need; and
 WHEREAS, For more than 40 years, Raquel Mosbacker worked as
 a teacher, principal, and superintendent in Tamaulipas, and her
 tremendous contributions impacted the lives of thousands of
 young people; and
 WHEREAS, In Brownsville, she was an active member of the
 First United Methodist Church, where she and her husband, Mervyn,
 spent countless hours volunteering for programs for the
 underserved; and
 WHEREAS, It was in her deepest nature to care for others,
 and she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother,
 sister, and friend; she leaves behind many unforgettable
 memories, which will forever be cherished by her husband of 66
 years, Mervyn Mosbacker, and by their children, Marcus, Mervyn,
 Myra, and Matthew, and their six grandchildren; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Raquel Mosbacker; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
 so in memory of Raquel Mosbacker.
