                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 78
 In Memory
 of
 Paul Nudleman
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Paul Nudleman, who
 died May 25, 2013, at the age of 91; and
 WHEREAS, Paul Nudleman was born in Fort Worth on July 24,
 1921, the son of Morris and Ida Spigel Nudleman; he graduated
 from Central High School in 1939; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Nudleman served during World War II in the
 United States Army Air Corps and was stationed in Warrington,
 England; he married Rhea Goldstein on December 1, 1946, in
 Dallas, and the couple shared 66 years of mutual love and
 devotion; they raised their four children in Fort Worth and were
 blessed with three grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, After his military service, Mr. Nudleman took
 over Morris Jewelry from his father and ran the business until
 his retirement in 1999; he also established Morris Discount
 Shoes, one of the nation's first mail-order men's discount shoe
 businesses, and RePaul Real Estate Investment Company; and
 WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Mr. Nudleman was respected
 in the community for his many accomplishments; he was a longtime
 member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom and was also a member of
 B'nai Brith and the Martin Hochster Jewish War Veterans Post 755,
 and he served on the board of Tarrant County Hebrew Free Loan; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Nudleman loved the outdoors and participated
 in several sports and active recreational activities, including
 golf, boating and fishing, deep-water aerobics, and handball,
 which he played competitively into his 80s; a kindhearted man of
 courage and strength, he will be remembered for his dauntless
 spirit; and
 WHEREAS, Paul Nudleman was a devoted husband, father, and
 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Paul Nudleman; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Paul Nudleman.
