SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 87
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the second annual Soljazz Festival, which is being held
June 7 through 16, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional event is led by Gemstone
Management chief executive officer Meredith Capleton and
Southwest Mobile Advertising chief executive officer Edrick
Laney; and
WHEREAS, The festival will showcase a wide variety of
performers, including Smokin' Joe McBride, Cherrelle, Natural
Change, Reginald Robinson, Alcedrick Todd, and many others; and
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS, The festival has in its short history established
itself as a premier event in the arts and cultural scene in the
Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and it is truly deserving of
recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the sponsors and
organizers of the 2013 Soljazz Festival on their outstanding
efforts and extend to them best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the festival as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
