H.R. No. 123
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Judy Flanagin has been named the 2012-2013
Weatherford Rotarian of the Year in honor of her contributions to
the local Rotary Club and the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Embodying the Rotary ideal of "Service Above Self,"
Ms. Flanagin has volunteered her time in behalf of the club's flag
and student dictionary programs as well as its fund-raising
initiative for the Salvation Army; moreover, she delivered for
Meals on Wheels and joined fellow members in building and
remodeling Habitat for Humanity homes; she has also attended
numerous seminars and district conferences as part of her effort to
further the Rotary mission; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Flanagin presently holds the office of vice
president with the Rotary Club, and she has served as chair of the
Rotary Foundation as well; her commitment to assisting her fellow
citizens is additionally reflected in her role as district director
in the office of State Representative Phil King; and
WHEREAS, Judy Flanagin's dedicated work has greatly
benefited the valuable projects carried out by the Rotary Club of
Weatherford, and she is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Judy Flanagin
on her selection as the 2012-2013 Weatherford Rotarian of the Year
and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Flanagin as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
