 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, June 13, 2013, was indeed a special day in the lives
 of Krista and Alex Stevens, for on that day they became the proud
 parents of a baby girl, Luella Leigh Stevens; and
 WHEREAS, Although she made her long-awaited debut in Jackson,
 Wyoming, this charming bundle of joy has strong ties to the Lone
 Star State; her family has lived in Central Texas for five
 generations, and her forebears include judges, senators, and
 community leaders as well as the winner of the 1936 Texas Centennial
 Horse Race from Lampasas to Dallas; and
 WHEREAS, Luella's birth has brought great happiness to her
 parents, as well as to her grandparents, Johnnie B. and Linda Rogers
 of Oakalla and Tom and Cheri Stevens of Camden, New York; and
 WHEREAS, Not one to waste time lying around in her crib, this
 energetic one-month-old is demonstrating the confidence and sense
 of adventure for which Texans are famous; she has already been on
 two fishing excursions, has attended a July 4th celebration, and
 frequently Skypes to keep in contact with her wide circle of loved
 ones; and
 WHEREAS, Luella Stevens has won the hearts of all who know
 her, and her Lone Star heritage will surely serve her well in the
 years ahead; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Krista and
 Alex Stevens on the birth of their daughter and recognize Luella
 Leigh Stevens as an honorary Texan, with all the rights and
 privileges accorded those individuals native to the Lone Star
 State; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
