 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 passing of Barbara Curtin Pace on February 24, 2013, at the age of
 86; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Houston, the former Barbara Curtin was
 born on April 20, 1926, to William and Lula Curtin; she attended The
 Kinkaid School and graduated from Saint Mary's Hall in San Antonio;
 after studying for a time at Rice University, she earned her
 bachelor's degree in math and philosophy from The University of
 Texas at Austin; and
 WHEREAS, She married Arthur Virgil Pace, Jr., on December 23,
 1947, and the couple became the parents of four children, Lila Pace
 Belitz, Henry Michael Curtin Pace, Edwina Curtin Pace, and Arthur
 Virgil Pace III; later in life, they were blessed with two
 grandchildren, Aleah and Arthur, with whom they treasured sharing
 many special occasions; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Pace gave back to her fellow
 citizens as a volunteer for a number of worthwhile organizations,
 including the Gladney Center for Adoption, the Junior League of
 Houston, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where she especially
 enjoyed serving at the Cottage Shop; in addition, she was a member
 of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Daughters of the American
 Revolution; and
 WHEREAS, Barbara Pace made a positive difference in the world
 around her through a lifetime of purposeful endeavor, and she
 leaves behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by all those
 who held her dear; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
 of Barbara Curtin Pace and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
 her family: to her husband, Arthur Virgil Pace, Jr.; to her
 children, Lila Pace Belitz and Henry Michael Curtin Pace; to her
 grandchildren, Aleah Edwina Pace and Arthur Virgil Pace IV; to her
 sister, Jane Curtin Reed; and to her other relatives and many
 friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara
 Curtin Pace.
