 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, David Courreges has been honored as a 2013
 Distinguished Law Graduate by the St. Mary's University School of
 Law and the Law Alumni Association; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Courreges earned his bachelor's degree from The
 University of Texas at Austin and went on to receive his master of
 public administration degree and juris doctorate from St. Mary's
 University; he has subsequently benefited St. Mary's as an adjunct
 professor and as the on-site administrator of the Frank J. Madla
 and Irma Rangel Legislative Internship Program, which he helped to
 establish; he has further given back to the institution in his roles
 as president of the law alumni association and as a member of the
 university's board of trustees; and
 WHEREAS, The founder of Courreges, PC, Mr. Courreges leads a
 practice specializing in legislative and government affairs,
 administrative and association law, and mediation; he has also
 gained more than a decade of experience in government law, serving
 as a legislative director for two state representatives, as general
 counsel for nonpartisan legislative caucuses, and as a consultant
 for a number of policy groups; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Courreges is an active and respected member of
 his field; president of the Austin Young Lawyers Association, he
 has served as vice president and board member of the state
 organization and was involved in the development of several
 law-focused education projects; his exceptional efforts earned him
 the 2008 TYLA President's Award for Outstanding Leadership and
 Service as well as the TYLA President's Awards of Merit in both 2007
 and 2009; in addition, he has been recognized as the 2013 top young
 Austinite in the legal profession by the Austin Under 40 committee,
 and he has twice been honored by Texas Monthly as a Texas Rising
 Star in government relations; and
 WHEREAS, Despite his busy schedule, Mr. Courreges has made
 time to serve his community, contributing to the Leukemia &
 Lymphoma Society, The Settlement Home for Children, and Volunteer
 Legal Services; and
 WHEREAS, David Courreges has demonstrated exceptional
 leadership, skill, and dedication in all of his endeavors, and he
 may indeed reflect with great pride on his many achievements; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate David
 Courreges on being named a 2013 Distinguished Law Graduate by the
 St. Mary's University School of Law and the Law Alumni Association
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Courreges as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
