SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 101 In Memory of Robert Wingate, Sr. WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Robert Wingate, Sr., who died July 6, 2013, at the age of 84; and WHEREAS, Robert Wingate was born on May 7, 1929, in Whitney, Texas; after graduating from Whitney High School, he worked for Convair in Fort Worth; he later joined the United States Army and served his country in Korea; he married Katie Cunningham on June 27, 1953; and WHEREAS, Mr. Wingate served as a machinist for General Dynamics in Fort Worth for 42 years; he retired to Blum in 1982, and he returned to Fort Worth in 2000; and WHEREAS, He loved to watch the Texas Rangers and enjoyed woodworking, dogs, and bluegrass music; he also enjoyed raising cows and crops and rebuilding old tractors; he was a member of the International Association of Machinists; and WHEREAS, Mr. Wingate was devoted to his wife, Katie, and to his five children, 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; he was a man of integrity and strength who was respected for his accomplishments, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Robert Wingate, Sr.; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert Wingate, Sr. Davis ________________________________ President of the Senate I hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on July 30, 2013, by a rising vote. ________________________________ Secretary of the Senate ________________________________ Member, Texas Senate
