                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 104
 In Memory
 of
 Delia Ellen Kerr Unger
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Delia Ellen Kerr
 Unger, who died July 7, 2013, at the age of 67; and
 WHEREAS, Ellen Kerr was born on May 8, 1946, in Oklahoma
 City, and she moved with her family to Fort Worth in 1952; she
 graduated from R. L. Paschal High School, and in 1968, she earned
 a degree from The University of Texas School of Nursing in
 Galveston; and
 WHEREAS, Ellen went on to spend her life helping people in
 various ways through her highly successful career in the field of
 health care and her volunteer work; she was a nurse, a massage
 therapist, and a cancer specialist; in 1994, she began her
 specialization in women's breast health by becoming a breast
 and cervical cancer detection nurse; she later became a
 certified lymphedema therapist and a certified breast health
 navigator; and
 WHEREAS, She was dedicated to her work at the Kupferle
 Breast Center of Harris Hospital and the Lymphedema Clinic; in
 2008, she moved with her husband, Lee Unger, to El Paso to develop
 the Cancer Navigation Program for Sierra Providence Health
 Network; they returned to Fort Worth after her retirement in
 2012; and
 WHEREAS, Ellen gave selflessly of her time to others and
 was devoted to her family; she was a devout Christian and a member
 of Genesis United Methodist Church; she loved traveling and
 outdoor activities, especially hiking, fishing, camping, and
 bicycling with her husband; and
 WHEREAS, Ellen Unger was an exemplary lady who was respected
 for her many accomplishments; she was beloved by many, and she will
 long be remembered with affection and appreciation by all who were
 privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Delia Ellen Kerr Unger;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Ellen Unger.
