SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize the law firm of Kelly Hart and Hallman, which was honored with the 2012 Spirit of Enterprise Award by the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, One of Fort Worth's leading law firms, Kelly Hart and Hallman represents some of the city's most prominent business leaders and institutions; founded in 1979 by Dee Kelly, Mark Hart, and Bill Hallman, the law firm is now Fort Worth's largest and consists of 141 lawyers; and WHEREAS, Since its inception, the law firm has maintained a culture of service to the community and civic leadership; the firm encourages its lawyers to engage in about 50 hours of pro bono work each year with the Tarrant County Bar Association and with nonprofit organizations; and WHEREAS, Its lawyers have offered free legal advice to veterans and free legal services to the poor and to such groups and organizations as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tarrant County, the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and the Tarrant County Woman's Center; and WHEREAS, The Spirit of Enterprise Award has been presented annually since 1975, and Kelly Hart and Hallman has the distinction of being the first law firm selected to receive it; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to Kelly Hart and Hallman for its many contributions to the Fort Worth community and extend congratulations to the firm on its selection as the 2012 recipient of the Spirit of Enterprise Award by the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of the firm and as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
