SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 30
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1963 on
the occasion of its 50-year reunion, which is taking place
August 17, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This reunion is an opportunity for class members
to reminisce about the many high school adventures they shared
and to remember and honor their classmates who have passed on;
and
WHEREAS, In gathering together to celebrate the 50th
anniversary of their graduation, the members of the Class of 1963
are expressing their enduring commitment to tradition, loyalty,
and friendship; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Class of 1963 played an important
role in the organization of the Booker T. Washington Alumni
Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting
better schools and raising awareness of the principle of giving
back to the community; and
WHEREAS, The students of the Class of 1963 have gone on to
become leaders and productive members of their communities, and
they are justly proud of their many achievements and contributions
to society; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend the members of
the Class of 1963 of Booker T. Washington High School on their
many accomplishments and extend to them best wishes for a
memorable 50-year reunion; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special event.
