                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
 In Memory
 of
 William R. Moody
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of United States Army Sergeant William R.
 Moody, who died June 18, 2013, at the age of 30, while serving his
 country in Afghanistan; and
 WHEREAS, Sergeant Moody was a graduate of Burleson High
 School and a member of the 68th Combat Sustainment Support
 Battalion, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division,
 based at Fort Carson, Colorado; he was serving his third tour of
 duty in Afghanistan when he gave his last full measure of
 devotion in service to his country; and
 WHEREAS, Sergeant Moody was a highly decorated soldier who
 served his country with bravery, integrity, and honor; among his
 many awards and citations are the Army Commendation Medal, the
 Army Achievement Medal, the Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medal
 with campaign star, and the National Defense Service Medal; and
 WHEREAS, He joins the long line of brave men and women of
 the American military whose selfless devotion and strength have
 left a lasting mark on the world; he was committed to defending
 the nation's safety, security, and democratic ideals; and
 WHEREAS, A man of courage, loyalty, and patriotism, he gave
 generously to others, and his devotion to duty and enthusiasm for
 living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted son, husband, and father, and he
 leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
 family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Sergeant William R. Moody:
 his wife, Lacy Brooke Moody; his children, Graydon, Alaysia, and
 Korben; his parents, Jeanette Stanley and William Moody; and his
 siblings, Rion and Heather Avelar and Ivory and Bailey Moody;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Sergeant William R. Moody.
