SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 36
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Lance Kinney, who has been named the recipient of the
Southern Zone Award and the Meritorious Service Award by the
National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kinney is executive director of the Texas
Board of Professional Engineers; he holds a bachelor's degree in
physics from The University of Texas at Austin and a master's
degree in industrial technology from Texas State University; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career with the board, he
has played an important role in formulating and implementing its
programs and activities; he has served as the chair of several
important committees and has volunteered his services in
outreach efforts; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kinney is in much demand as a lecturer and
presenter; his work with zone enforcement panels and programs and
his efforts to make engineering examinations available online
have had a profound impact on the profession; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary administrator, Mr. Kinney is
respected and admired by his colleagues, and he is truly
deserving of recognition for his many achievements; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Lance
Kinney on his exceptional contributions to his profession and
extend congratulations to him on receiving the Southern Zone
Award and the Meritorious Service Award from the National Council
of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
