                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 6
 In Memory
 of
 Betty Mattiza Eubanks
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Betty Mattiza Eubanks, who died June 11,
 2013, at the age of 80; and
 WHEREAS, Betty Eubanks was born August 12, 1932, in
 Cleburne, to Rudolph and Bettie Mattiza; she was an honors
 graduate of Cleburne High School at the age of 16 and went on to
 graduate cum laude from North Texas State University at the age
 of 19; she married Sonny Eubanks on December 23, 1957, and the
 couple enjoyed 55 years of marriage together; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Eubanks had a productive and fulfilling
 career of more than 40 years as a third grade teacher with the
 Fort Worth Independent School District; after her retirement,
 she continued to serve students through her work with the
 Computer Curriculum Corporation and the Catholic Diocese of Fort
 Worth; she also served on the executive board of the Texas State
 Teachers Association; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Eubanks was active in a variety of community
 organizations, including the Kimbell Art Museum, the Fort Worth
 Symphony Orchestra, and the Woman's Club of Fort Worth; she was a
 seasoned traveler who loved the time she spent across the country
 and abroad, and she was also a devoted follower of the Texas
 Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
 gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued
 counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and
 WHEREAS, She will be deeply missed by her family and
 friends, but she will live on in their hearts and minds; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Betty Mattiza Eubanks; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Betty Mattiza Eubanks.
