SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 86
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dean LaFever for his outstanding service over the last
13 years as director of the Rio Grande Valley area for Texas Gas
Service, a division of the energy services company Oneok; and
WHEREAS, Mr. LaFever has for more than 20 years played an
important role in the field of utility customer service and
operations; he has been particularly effective in distribution,
communications, and information technology coordination; and
WHEREAS, During his time in the Rio Grande Valley, he has been
responsible for enhancing sales, cultivating and maintaining
political contacts, and overseeing employee development; and
WHEREAS, He has been active in a variety of community
organizations, including service as president of the Harlingen
Area Educational Foundation and the Harlingen Chamber of
Commerce and as a board member for the Valley International
Airport and the Rio Grande Valley Partnership; and
WHEREAS, Mr. LaFever is transferring to Odessa, where his
extensive experience will serve him well as he assumes new
responsibilities as Director of Resource Management for Oneok; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary administrator and civic leader,
Mr. LaFever is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his
presence will be greatly missed at Texas Gas Service and in the
Rio Grande Valley community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Dean LaFever on
his many achievements and extend to him best wishes for continued
success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
