H.R. No. 8
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Rhonda and Ronny Samford are being recognized for
their civic engagement with a Community Builder Award from Masonic
Lodge No. 737 in Tenaha; and
WHEREAS, Lifelong residents of Tenaha, Mr. and Mrs. Samford
are valued congregants of Ramah Baptist Church as well as active
members of their community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Samford serves his church as a deacon and Sunday
school teacher, and he serves the greater community as a member of
the school board and the volunteer fire department; in addition, he
coaches local youth athletic teams and records the life of the town
as a photographer for the Timpson and Tenaha News; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Samford has also covered area events in her
work as a reporter for the Timpson and Tenaha News, and she has
further distinguished herself as a Sunday school teacher and
children's choir director at her church and as secretary and
treasurer of the Tenaha athletic booster club; and
WHEREAS, The communities of Texas benefit greatly from the
time and energy contributed by enthusiastic civic volunteers, and
Rhonda and Ronny Samford are indeed worthy of special recognition
for their commitment to helping make Tenaha a better place to live;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Rhonda and
Ronny Samford on receiving the Community Builder Award from Masonic
Lodge No. 737 in Tenaha and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Samford as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
