SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jodie Lee Jiles for his 26 years of outstanding
leadership in the municipal finance and investment banking
industry; and
WHEREAS, During his outstanding career in the industry,
Mr. Jiles provided expert guidance to public finance clients and
municipal issuers throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he served as chairman of the board of
the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas, a nonprofit membership
corporation organized to promote efficient investment banking,
underwriting, trading, and sales of municipal debt; and
WHEREAS, A man of vision and many talents, Mr. Jiles has
also demonstrated valuable business acumen and expertise in the
areas of local and state infrastructure, health care, and higher
education; he is noted for his personal commitment to giving back
to the community and his service on behalf of numerous nonprofit
organizations; his awards include The University of Texas at
Austin Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011; he was also named
Texas Southern University's Jesse H. Jones School of Business
Alumnus of the Decade; and
WHEREAS, Due to his wisdom, extensive knowledge, and many
impressive skills, he has been in much demand as a speaker at
events across the state; he serves on a number of education and
health care boards, including the boards of Baylor College of
Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital, and the Texas Heart
Institute; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Jodie Lee Jiles
for his many accomplishments over the course of his career and
extend to him best wishes on the occasion of his retirement; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
