9- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
104 AN ACT
115 relating to eligibility for appointment as a tabulation supervisor
126 in an election.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 127.003(b), Election Code, is amended to
159 read as follows:
1610 (b) To be eligible for appointment, a person must be:
1711 (1) trained in the operation of the automatic
1812 tabulating equipment installed at the counting station; and
1913 (2) a registered voter of the political subdivision
2014 served by the authority establishing the counting station or an
2115 employee of the political subdivision that adopts or owns the
2216 voting system.
2317 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2418 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2519 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2620 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2721 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
