| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 707.017, Transportation Code, is amended | |

| 13 | 13 | Sec. 707.017. REGISTRATION AFTER CIVIL PENALTY IMPOSED | |
| 14 | 14 | [ENFORCEMENT]. [(a)] If the owner of a motor vehicle is delinquent | |
| 15 | 15 | in the payment of a civil penalty imposed under this chapter, | |
| 16 | 16 | neither the county assessor-collector nor [or] the Texas Department | |
| 17 | 17 | of Motor Vehicles may refuse to register a motor vehicle alleged to | |
| 18 | 18 | have been involved in the violation. | |
| 19 | 19 | [(b) This section does not apply to the registration of a | |
| 20 | 20 | motor vehicle under Section 501.0234.] | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
