104 AN ACT
115 relating to the definition of a state judge for purposes of state
126 driver's license and personal identification laws.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 521.001(a)(8-a), Transportation Code,
159 is amended to read as follows:
1610 (8-a) "State judge" means:
1711 (A) the judge of an appellate court, a district
1812 court, [or] a county court at law, or a statutory probate court of
1913 this state; or
2014 (B) an associate judge appointed under Chapter
2115 201, Family Code, Chapter 54A, Government Code, or Chapter 574,
2216 Health and Safety Code.
2317 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2418 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2519 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2620 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2721 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
