11	5		relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for recipients
12	6		of the Combat Action Badge, Medal, or Ribbon.
13	7		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
14	8		SECTION 1. Section 504.202(e-1), Transportation Code, is
15	9		amended to read as follows:
16	10		(e-1) Other than license plates issued under Subsection
17	11		(h), license plates issued under this section may include, on
18	12		request:
19	13		(1) the emblem of the veteran's branch of service; or
20	14		(2) one emblem from another license plate to which the
21	15		person is entitled under Section 504.308, 504.315, 504.316, [or]
22	16		504.319, or 504.320.
23	17		SECTION 2. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code,
24	18		is amended by adding Section 504.320 to read as follows:
25	19		Sec. 504.320. COMBAT ACTION BADGE, MEDAL, OR RIBBON
26	20		RECIPIENTS. (a) The department shall issue specialty license
27	21		plates for recipients of the Combat Action Badge. License plates
28	22		issued under this subsection must include the Combat Action Badge
29	23		Combat Infantryman emblem and must include the words "Combat Action
30	24		Badge" at the bottom of each plate.
31	25		(b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
32	26		recipients of the Combat Action Medal. License plates issued under
33	27		this subsection must include the Combat Action Medal emblem and
34	28		must include the words "Combat Action Medal" at the bottom of each
35	29		plate.
36	30		(c) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
37	31		recipients of the Combat Action Ribbon. License plates issued
38	32		under this subsection must include the Combat Action Ribbon emblem
39	33		and must include the words "Combat Action Ribbon" at the bottom of
40	34		each plate.
41	35		(d) For purposes of Subsections (a) and (c), if a branch of
42	36		the United States armed forces awards a Combat Action Badge or
43	37		Ribbon with a unique emblem for each award of the Combat Action
44	38		Badge or Ribbon to a recipient, the department shall only issue
45	39		specialty license plates that include the unique emblem of the
46	40		first award.
47	41		SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January 1, 2016.
