66 AN ACT
77 relating to funding for public school career and technology
88 education programs.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Sections 42.154(a) and (c), Education Code, are
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (a) For each full-time equivalent student in average daily
1313 attendance in an approved career and technology education program
1414 in grades seven [nine] through 12 [or in career and technology
1515 education programs for students with disabilities in grades seven
1616 through 12], a district is entitled to:
1717 (1) an annual allotment equal to the adjusted basic
1818 allotment multiplied by a weight of 1.36 [1.35]; and
1919 (2) $50, if the student is enrolled in:
2020 (A) two or more advanced career and technology
2121 education classes for a total of three or more credits; or
2222 (B) an advanced course as part of a tech-prep
2323 program under Subchapter T, Chapter 61.
2424 (c) Funds allocated under this section, other than an
2525 indirect cost allotment established under State Board of Education
2626 rule, must be used in providing career and technology education
2727 programs in grades seven [nine] through 12 [or career and
2828 technology education programs for students with disabilities in
2929 grades seven through 12] under Sections 29.182, 29.183, and 29.184.
3030 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
