77 relating to the confidentiality of certain information regarding
88 state election inspectors.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Sections 34.001(a) and (c), Election Code, are
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (a) The secretary of state may appoint one or more state
1313 inspectors for an election. The appointment is, until the day after
1414 election day, confidential and not available for public inspection.
1515 (c) A request under Subsection (b) must be received by the
1616 secretary of state not later than the fourth regular business day
1717 before the date of the election for which the inspectors are
1818 requested. The request is, until the day after election day,
1919 confidential and not available for public inspection [until the day
2020 after election day].
2121 SECTION 2. Chapter 34, Election Code, is amended by adding
2222 Section 34.006 to read as follows:
2323 Sec. 34.006. PLACES INSPECTED CONFIDENTIAL. Information
2424 held by the secretary of state that indicates the place a state
2525 inspector has been appointed to inspect is, during the period
2626 beginning on the day the state inspector is appointed and ending on
2727 the day after election day, confidential and not available for
2828 public inspection.
2929 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
