                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 10, 2015      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1270 by Fletcher (Relating to the authority of the Department of Agriculture to employ and commission peace officers as investigators.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Agriculture Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the authority of the Department of Agriculture to employ and commission peace officers as investigators. Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Agriculture, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
